On Dec 26, 2011, the tailoring school conducted a one-day training for using natural Burmese dyes. Sayamar Phyu Ei Thein led a group of 15 trainees, calling upon her 3 years of experience in silk and cotton dyeing methods practiced in Burma and Japan. The workshop included instruction in hot and cold dyeing methods using fruit and local household ingredients (such as tea, vinegar, and a salt/base solution), as well as techniques in tie-dyeing.
