Important Notes

To be considered for an internship service scholarship from CSIP, students must submit their applications prior to 15th June, 2018*** Applications received after this deadline will not be accepted***.

CSIP internship scholarships are highly competitive. Incomplete or poorly completed applications will be rejected immediately. Please read all of the information carefully and take note of the deadline.

In order to be considered for an internship scholarship, students will need to submit a complete application. A complete application includes filling in the application form AND providing the following documents:

  • Grade results/transcript
  • Copy of student ID card
  • Student photo
  • Copy of passport (for international students)
  • Copy of first page of bank book

Applications with incomplete documentation will not be considered. If a document is missing, you must explain why it is missing and when you will submit it. Remember to send us the missing documents as soon as possible. Any application received after the deadline will be automatically disqualified. There are no exceptions.

Eligibility

In order to be awarded a CSIP Scholarship, students MUST:

  • be residing in Thailand (any ethnicity, religion, and gender are eligible to apply, and priority will be given to students from Myanmar)
  • be service oriented and volunteer minded
  • have enrolled in an undergraduate degree at an accredited college or university in Thailand
  • be available to intern 5-10 hours per week from August-December 2018

 

When considering internship scholarship applications, CSIP looks for students who:

  • have a strong past academic performance and record
  • have a strong desire to pursue higher education
  • come from underprivileged families AND/OR can demonstrate financial need
  • have a vision for their contribution to community development and are committed to work for their own community after graduation

 

Conditions

Students who are enrolled in accredited colleges or universities can apply for this program. Based on the students’ interests, we will pair them with a local NGO or organization where they will volunteer weekly for 5-10 hours (minimum of 100 hours per semester). Internships should be service-oriented and can focus on mentoring youth, environmental protection, community development, health, safety, human rights, or education. Internship scholarships are awarded for one semester only and students must apply again for subsequent semesters. Awards can partially cover the costs associated with tuition fees. A minimum of 15,000 THB will be awarded.

A CSIP internship scholarship does not cover:

  • expenses for the scholar’s family
  • additional travel during the course of the study program
  • Field trip-related expenses and participation in workshops/seminars

 

Timeline

The application deadline for this scholarship is 15th June 2018. CSIP will assess applications and create a shortlist of candidates by the first week of July. Shortlisted candidates will be invited for interview at our Chiang Mai office during the second week of July and will be informed of the outcome of their interview during the third week of July 2018.

 

If you are selected to receive a scholarship you will be notified via email.

 

Successful applicants

If you are successful in your application for an internship scholarship, then you will be required:

  • to sign an internship agreement form
  • to submit a semester/internship report in which students give details of their studies and internship services
  • to submit a copy of any certificates and transcripts obtained after graduating
  • to respond in timely manner to scholarship communication

 

Internships will take place during the first semester of the academic year from August to December 2018.

 

Please note: If a student fails to observe the above conditions, they will be liable to repay the funding and will not be eligible for future awards.

 

Decisions on awards are made by the CSIP Committee and are final. Anyone submitting false documents, making untrue statements, or failing to disclose all relevant information will NOT receive a grant for this academic semester or in the future.

 

We do not send rejection notices. If you have not heard from us by third week of July, you should assume that your application was unsuccessful.

Please note: Your application will only be considered once it has been submitted.

By signing and submitting the application form, you are certifying that the information you have provided is true and complete to the best of your knowledge. Furthermore, you acknowledge that supplying incomplete or false information will result in CSIP revoking the internship scholarship and require a full repayment of all scholarship funds from the start of the internship.
