BEAM Education Foundation, located in Chiang Mai, Thailand, is currently looking for a GED Language Arts Instructor & Program Associate for CYLD/GED Program.

Job description:
Higher Education Program Associate [25-30 hours per week]
o Coordinating interactions between teachers and students
o Assistance with program planning and day-to-day administration, and program evaluation
o Coordinating Volunteers: regular meetings with volunteer teachers
o Managing partnership projects such as international exchanges
o Coordinating and meeting with volunteer teachers
o Assisting with communications: manage social media, reply to emails, development of the website, and write a quarterly newsletter
o Managing the Scholarship Committee and activities
o Helping with fundraising/crowdfunding
o Writing quarterly reports for the program grants and semi-annual scholarship reports
o Supporting the Higher Education Program Coordinator and other staff with various administrative tasks
o Participating and representing BEAM at cultural events and activities (occasionally)
GED Language Arts Instructor [10-15 hours per week]
o Teaching English Reading & Writing based on the GED 2014 curriculum. 4 lessons per week (6 hours total)
o Managing the classroom
o Creating lesson plans for the class
o Mentoring and counseling students regarding scholarships and universities
o Providing academic feedback and assisting with university applications, writing recommendation letters for students if requested
o Creating, proctoring, and grading semester exams
Job skills and qualifications:
• University graduate with an English related major or relevant certificate
• English language skills are required and prior teaching experience is desirable.
• Excellent knowledge of designated subject and the latest educational theories & practices
• Passion for teaching and organization skills
• Patience, flexibility and strong communication skills
• Commitment for helping students achieve their maximum potential
The candidate should also be volunteer minded and needs to commit to about 40 working hours (6 hours teaching, plus 34 hours of lesson planning/curriculum, meetings, program administration etc.) per week. Stipend negotiable depending on qualifications and experience. Work permit and visa will be provided at our expense after successfully completing a probation period. This contract is valid for a period of one year and may be renewed by mutual agreement between the employee and the Foundation.
