BEAM Education Foundation, located in Chiang Mai, Thailand, is currently seeking a Program Associate. Founded in 2010, BEAM Education Foundation is a non-profit charity educational organization providing educational services to marginalized and migrant youth in Thailand and Myanmar. We deliver educational access, vocational skills training, and youth leadership empowerment opportunities to meet the specific needs of our program beneficiaries. In the past 15 years, BEAM has empowered community youth leaders while promoting and widening access to basic, higher, and vocational education.
Purpose of the position:
So far, BEAM has supported over 100,000 disadvantaged youth and children through our various programs. BEAM operates over 30 sub-projects under 6 main programs. The Program Associate will be responsible for developing the project work plan in collaboration with the team, based on the project design, objectives, and deadlines. The Program Associate needs to establish effective communication channels to ensure smooth coordination between program management and operations. The role also involves monitoring the implementation of the work plan, supporting data and feedback collection through surveys and focus group discussions, analyzing the findings to identify program results, and informing the Program Coordinator of decision-making and necessary revisions. This project is planned for one year, with the possibility of extension based on need and program expansion. Job Description:
Assist in ensuring efficient program planning, execution, and closure while meeting objectives and deadlines.
Participate in preparing work plans, target setting, resource allocation, M&E plans, and performance frameworks for the program.
Maintain accurate records to ensure program activities are implemented on time, meet their targets, and that all resources and findings are properly documented.
Support data and feedback collection through surveys and focus group discussions, analyze and evaluate the findings to identify program results, inform the Program Coordinator for decision-making, and revise accordingly based on discussions.
Establish effective communication channels to facilitate coordination between program management and operations.
Manage and maintain program databases by collecting, organizing, and inputting data from trainings, workshops, and other events, ensuring accuracy and security in line with donor and program requirements, and documenting key insights through significant stories for each activity.
Perform regular data backups and implement recovery processes to prevent data loss, ensuring all required data is accurately entered into the system and database platform.
Collaborate with trainers, facilitators, and program teams to meet program requirements, and assist coordinators in preparing and submitting project progress, activity, and donor reports.
Collaborate with the MEL Associate to ensure the program stays on track, and regularly communicate with staff and stakeholders to monitor that activities align with objectives, work plans, budgets, resources, and expected results.
Job Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field.
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in project operations, including data collection.
Knowledge of donor compliance standards.
Demonstrated ability to manage datasets and perform statistical analysis using tools such as Microsoft Excel, Word, and other relevant software.
Strong communication skills, actively engages in communication, and effectively uses appropriate communication channels.
Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal, andThai or other local languages are an asset.
Effective organizational, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills, including flexibility, patience, and a positive attitude.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment and travel occasionally to training sites and field locations.
Knowledge of understanding and practicing Safeguarding Children and Young People is preferable.
