BEAM Education Foundation (BEF) was founded in 2010, and it is a non-profit charity educational organization providing educational services to marginalized and migrant youth in Thailand and Myanmar. BEF delivers educational access, vocational skills training, and youth leadership empowerment opportunities to meet the specific needs of our program beneficiaries. In the past 15 years, BEAM has empowered community youth leaders while promoting and widening access to basic, higher, and vocational education. So far, BEAM has supported over 100,000 disadvantaged youth and children through various programs. BEAM operates over 30 sub-projects under six main programs.
Position Summary:
The Thai Literacy Assistant Teacher supports NFE students in improving their Thai reading, writing, and speaking skills. The role focuses on assisting classroom teachers, supporting student-centered learning, and helping students develop language skills for daily life in line with the 200-hour Thai language curriculum.
Key Responsibilities:
Teaching and Learning Support
Assist classroom teachers in planning and delivering lessons using the 200-hour Thai language curriculum.
Support teaching that meets curriculum standards and helps students achieve learning objectives.
Promote student-centered learning approaches to develop knowledge, skills, and positive learning habits.
Support students in developing Thai language skills in reading, writing, speaking, and everyday communication.
Collaborate with teachers to create engaging and interactive learning activities.
Classroom and Learning Environment
Assist in preparing teaching materials, resources, and learning tools.
Use appropriate tools, technology, and resources to support learning activities.
Help create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment that encourages critical thinking and participation.
Observe student progress and share feedback and ideas with classroom teachers.
Ensure student safety and well-being in all learning activities.
Outreach and Student Support
Support Thai literacy teaching both at NFE School and external learning locations.
Participate in home visits with the coordinator to better understand students’ backgrounds and learning needs, including:
Understanding home and learning environments
Building relationships with students and families
Identifying student interests, needs, and expectations
Explaining NFE learning approaches and activities to caregivers
Qualifications and Requirements:
High school graduate.
Experience in a Thai 200-hour language course.
Previous teaching or teaching support experience is preferred.
Strong interest in education and working with children and youth.
Ability to assist with classroom organization and learning activities.
Demonstrate commitment, responsibility, and professionalism.
Flexibility to support teaching, outreach, and student support activities.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to organizational policies
Basic understanding of child safeguarding principles.
Commitment to education access, child protection, and organizational values.
