On October 24, 2014, by invitation from Art Relief International (ARI), 25 BEAM students from both first and second years attended the Imagine Your World Exhibition at Chiang Mai University’s Art Center. The exhibit included many different styles of freehand paintings, poetry written by students and children, creative works regarding environmental issues, as well as photos, crafts, and drawings.
In cooperation with other 20 organizations, ARI, an organization in Chiang Mai, Thailand, leads workshops for children with disabilities and other populations, including refugee and migrant workers, to help express themselves through art. ARI also works with organizations and communities to incorporate art into everyday life and activities. (For more information, please visit the website www.artrelief.net.)
From visiting and interacting with ARI’s Imagine Your World Exhibit, BEAM students were able to create their own art as well as gain an understanding and appreciation towards different types of art created by members of the Chiang Mai community.
