On October 10, 2014, BEAM conducted basic computer training at Han-Dong Kayar Church. Training period will be two and half month long. Currently, 11 migrant students attend the course from 7:00 pm to 9:30 pm on every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. This training offers students the opportunity to familiarize themselves with computers and internet, as well as to learn basic typing skills.
Saw Nay Doe, one of the students said, “This is my first time taking computer training. Since I am interested in jobs that require computer skills, I hope to learn and gain more basic knowledge and computer skills. The training has helped me to improve. I can use the internet and email more.”
BEAM holds this training especially for Myanmar migrant workers in Thailand in order to provide them with skills that would be helpful in their current and futureworkplaces. BEAM provides migrant workers the opportunity to seek high-skill employment and achieve their professional goals.
