About our organization

BEAM Education Foundation, located in Chiang Mai, Thailand, is currently seeking a Fundraising Manager to strengthen its fundraising activities and raise more funds for the organization’s various projects.

Founded in 2010, BEAM Education Foundation is a non-profit charity educational organization providing educational services to marginalized and migrant youth in Thailand and Myanmar. We deliver educational access, vocational skills training, and youth leadership empowerment opportunities to meet specific needs of our program beneficiaries. In the past 13 years BEAM has empowered community youth leaders while promoting and widening access to basic, higher, and vocational education.

Purpose of the position:

So far, BEAM has supported over 15,000 disadvantaged youth and children through our various programs. BEAM operates over 30 sub-projects under 6 main programs. The Fundraising Manager performs strategic development functions and drives the organization’s fundraising efforts to secure the resources needed to advance the organization’s work. The Fundraising Manager reports to the Foundation Director, and Senior Management Team and performs day-to-day activities to work closely with the management and staff team, Finance and Administration, HR and other programs to build the organization’s funding efforts that will result in sustainable fund that result in meeting or exceeding target fundraising goals that ensure the organization’s projects and core operations are appropriately and sustainably resourced.

Job description:

The Fundraising Manager position involves three (3) main areas of responsibility.

Fundraising

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy aligned with organizational goals.
  • Identify and pursue diverse funding sources, including individual donors, corporate partnerships, foundations, and government grants.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive, sustainable, and strategic plan to generate funds for BEAM.
  • In conjunction with the Foundation’s leadership, determine the funding needs and funding priorities of the Foundation.
  • Planning and administering the annual fundraising budget and executing and implementing direct fundraising campaigns.
  • Identifying sources and preparing proposals for government, corporations, foundations and private granting agencies.
  • Participate in the planning and coordination of strategic appeals, campaigns, and activities to engage new and existing donors both online and in-person.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute fundraising campaigns and events.
  • Develop policies and procedures that reflect ethical fundraising practices.
  • Development and distribution of collateral material such as Annual Reports and Newsletters in collaboration with Communications Manager.
  • Oversee the planning and execution of special fundraising events specified in a funding development plan.

Maintain and build positive relationships

  • Network and maintain a strong working relationship with the Foundation’s funding and consulting partners.
  • Develop strategies to engage donors, communicate the impact of their contributions, and foster long-term support.
  • Lead the writing and application of grants and the initiation of fundraising activities to increase      funding streams of the foundation.
  • Assist in the management of the Foundation’s fundraising platforms including Global Giving and other such platforms.
  • Train and assist program coordinators for developing fundraising proposals.
  • Develop Foundation Information Package for fundraising purpose and communicate with partners which are assigned by Foundation Director.
  • Coordinate with the IT department to manage web-based fundraising activities and initiatives on social media to market the organization; promote fundraising activities, and acknowledge donors and funders.
  • Collaborate with Communications and M&E Manager to align fundraising efforts with the organization’s brand and messaging.
  • Create and maintain a database of active and potential funding sources.

Coordinate strategy and reporting

  • Develop and review high-quality comprehensive fundraising reports and funding proposals by program heads and associates.
  • Write and design organizational fundraising materials/templates and information package.
  • Collaborate with the Foundation Director, Senior Management team and program coordinators to create a fund development plan which increases funds to support the strategic priorities of the organization
  • Work closely with the finance team to create and manage fundraising budgets.
  • Research, evaluate, and recommend new fundraising opportunities and tactics in alignment with the organization’s values, strategic priorities, and program work

Job skills and qualifications:

  • University graduate with Nonprofit Management, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Two years of experience in various aspects of event coordination, an in-depth knowledge of fundraising activities and programs with experience in grant writing.
  • Prior experience moderating website and social media platforms and online fundraising platforms, including but not limited to: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
  • Demonstrated success and evidence of ability to plan and execute a fundraising campaign or marketing events.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and strong organization, problem-solving and communication skills
  • Strong organization, problem-solving and communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills: flexibility, patience, and positive attitude
  • Familiarity with digital communication tools and social media platforms.
  • Ability to think strategically and contribute to the development of organizational goals.
  • Knowledge on understanding and practicing of the Safeguarding Children and Young People is preferable. The candidate should also be volunteer-minded and needs to commit to about 40 working hours per week. Work permit and visa will be provided at our expense after successfully completing a probation period. This contract is valid for a period of 12 months (early January – December 2024) and may be renewed by mutual agreement between the employee and the Foundation.
