Beam is thrilled to congratulate Say May on being awarded IIE Odyssey scholarship. This a four year funded scholarship and highlights Say May’s dedication, determination and hard work have paid off, opening up new and exciting opportunities for her future.
As a school that values and promotes excellence, we are immensely proud of Say May’s accomplishment
“My dad was the happiest person ever on that day because, after he heard that, his happy tears came out. I was so happy that I could make my family proud of me, and knowing I will on the way to follow my dream is such an amazing feeling,” she says. “It was a moment of pure joy and accomplishment for us, and I knew that all my hard work had paid off.”
Say May’s first step towards her future dream began when she joined the Beam CYLD program in 2020 and earned her GED diploma.
“Joining BEAM was one of the best choices I ever made. Not only did they train us to take the GED, but the teachers helped us achieve leadership skills as well,” she says. “I am grateful for the opportunity to be part of such a supportive community that values education and personal growth.”
“The BEAM program has not only helped me achieve academic success but also provided me with valuable networking opportunities and mentorship. I am grateful for the support and guidance that BEAM has provided me throughout my academic journey.”
Say May plans to study Social Sciences at Chiang Mai University and is interested in working with vulnerable and displaced people. Her vision is to use social work to help rebuild communities.
She also has some great advice for future students of BEAM.
“At BEAM, you will be surrounded by a supportive community of like-minded individuals who are all striving towards their academic and personal goals,” she says. “Take advantage of the resources available to you, and never hesitate to ask for help or guidance along the way. The BEAM family is looking forward to seeing your achievements in the future!”
