In May, the first 5 graduates of the BEAM program went to Bangkok to take the GED examination in all five subjects (Reading ,Writing, Math, Science, and Social Studies). Two additional students started the exam process with the Math, Science, and Social exams. Out of 31 tests in total, our students passed 30 exams. A total passing score is 2250, with a minimum of 410 on each subject. From this initial group of students, Peter scored the highest with a score of 2600. Exceptional scores in specific subjects include Ywa Hay Tha on the Reading exam with 540 (ranking in the 66th percentile against other test takers), Shahista on the Writing exam with 570 (ranking in the 76th percentile) and on the Science exam with 560 (73rd percentile), Lawnt Ying and Aye Aye on the Math exam with 540, and Aye Aye on the Social Studies exam with 550 (69th percentile). So far, four students now hold a High School Equivalency Diploma from the United States and three students have begun classes at Chiang Mai University International College in the Social Sciences Program. Overall, an outstanding accomplishment for every student and for the entire BEAM School!
