About our organization

RISE Center (Administered by BEAM Education Foundation), located in Mae Sot, Thailand, is currently seeking a Skill Development Program Associate to ensure the smooth and efficient operations of the organization.

In 2023, the RISE Center (Administered by BEAM Education Foundation) was founded in Mae Sot to build resilience among the marginalized and migrant communities in Thailand and Myanmar. Our approach comprises three key components: mental health support, skill development, and community engagement. Through our initiatives, we provide psychological support, counseling, treatment, educational access, vocational skills training, and youth programs to meet the specific needs of our program beneficiaries.

 

Purpose of the position:

The RISE Center has supported community members, youth, and children through various programs. The Skill Development Program Associate is responsible for overseeing the operations of the organization and facilitating the relationship between the organization, migrant communities, and Thai communities, and communicating with partner organizations for several service providing projects. The Skill Development Program Associate is responsible for building and maintaining relationships with the Thai Government departments, and community-based development partners, managing and coordinating partnership, supporting and monitoring training, providing Thai language skill training, and technical assistance to teachers at community-based learning centers. The Skill Development Program Associate reports to the Program Coordinator. Moreover, this position is responsible for ensuring that an organization’s activities and programs are effectively monitored, evaluated, reported, and aligned with its goals.

 Job Description:

The Skill Development Program Associate is required to carry out the following functions, in addition to other associated functions as the organization may require from time to time:

  • Assists with planning and day-to-day operation, monitoring, and evaluation of program activities’ outputs.
  • Liaises and builds the relationship between the Foundation and the Thai Ministry of Education and other related departments in Thailand.
  • Building collaborative interactions between community-based development partners and related Thai government departments for collectively addressing the needs of communities.
  • Support the management and coordination of partnership training, including partner networks, organization, school, institutes, and colleges, while maintaining regular communication with partners.
  • Communicate with trainees, address their inquiries, and provide relevant program information while assisting trainers and trainees with their requirements and needs, and monitoring training sessions to ensure smooth operations.
  • Follow up with individual trainees and partner organizations to assess the progress and impact of training, particularly how trainees apply their knowledge and share it with others.
  • Providing teaching of the Thai language skill training, and conducting Thai language skills development meetings/ training/ workshops based on the needs of teachers at community-based learning centers, and providing technical assistance.
  • Monitoring and counseling the quality of Thai language skill development for the teachers and students about their academic needs and progress.
  • Provides support and meets regularly with the coordinator concerning administrative management issues, activities/training and the development and status of the program.
  • Composes and submits reports to the coordinator.
  • Assists in translating/interpretation in communication with Thai government departments occasionally.
  • Attends regular team meetings, staff meetings, and capacity development training that are organized by the Foundation.
  • Plans and manages resources and contributes to the achievement of the Foundation’s ultimate goals.
 

Job Skills and Qualifications:

  • University graduate in a related field in Thailand.
  • Two years of experience in a communication role or a similar role on various aspects of coordination, and an in-depth knowledge of development matters.
  • Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking Thai, with a strong interest in teaching.
  • Ability to work in a team environment with excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Strong organization, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills: flexibility, patience, and positive attitude.
  • Ability to think strategically and contribute to the development of organizational goals.
  • Knowledge of understanding and practicing Safeguarding Children and Young People is preferable.   • The candidate should also be volunteer-minded and needs to commit to about 40 working hours per week.
