Khong Dau Chamloit originally from Myitkyina, Kachin State embraced his scholarship with BEAM with enthusiasm and completed his GED and CYLD (Community Youth Leadership Development) course with excellent examination results.

However, it was receiving a scholarship from Parami University that has further set Dau on course for his bright future.

“I was overjoyed and thrilled because my long-awaited dream had finally come true…My heart was filled with gratitude and excitement for the new journey ahead,” says Dau.

Although Dau’s experiences were not always smooth sailing. “I encountered various struggles, including selecting the right university and program, writing essays, and preparing for interviews. Despite these challenges, I persevered because obtaining the scholarship was important to me,” says Dau.

Although Dau’s teachers at BEAM recognize Dau’s self-discipline, mature work ethic and strong critical thinking skills, Dau is also thankful for his experiences at BEAM.

“BEAM played a crucial role in my academic journey by providing resources and support to obtain my GED diploma, which opened doors to further education,” he says. “I highly recommend studying for the GED with BEAM. It offers a supportive learning environment free of charge, which is invaluable for students facing financial constraints. Dedication and hard work are essential too…. The best aspect of BEAM was not only helping me obtain my GED diploma but also introducing me to supportive friends who share similar aspirations like Saw Sein Than and Rejoice.”

BEAM prides itself on creating community and deep connections for Myanmar youth who are isolated and or marginalized. We love to see students design the best future for themselves and their communities.

Dau has decided on completing a Politics, Philosophy and Economics degree in order to support the development of his community.

“My choice of Parami was influenced by practical considerations such as passport issues and the convenience of studying online. Additionally, Parami offered a program that resonated with my interests and allowed me to study from the comfort of my home.”

“Upon completing my bachelor’s degree, I aim to pursue a master’s degree while engaging in work with NGOs or academic/political organizations to contribute to my community,” he says.

ကချင်ပြည်နယ်၊ မြစ်ကြီးနားဇာတိဖြစ်တဲ့ Khong Dau Chamloit ကတော့ BEAM ကပေးတဲ့ CYLD program တက်ခွင့်ကို စိတ်အားထက်ထက်သန်သန်နဲ့တက်ရောက်ခဲ့ပြီး စာမေးပွဲတွေကိုလည်း ရမှတ်ကောင်းကောင်းနဲ့ အောင်ခဲ့တယ်။

ဒါပေမယ့် Parami တက္ကသိုလ်ကနေထပ်ချီးမြှင့်ပေးတဲ့ ပညာသင်ဆုကတော့ သူ့ရဲ့အနာဂါတ်ကို ပိုတောက်ပစေခဲ့ပါတယ်။

“BEAM က ကျွန်တော့ရဲ့ ပညာရေးတက်လမ်းအတွက် GED Diploma ရဖို့ လိုအပ်တာတွေကို ဖြည့်ဆည်းပေးတဲ့ အဓိကအရေးကြီးတဲ့ ကဏ္ဍကနေပါ၀င်ခဲ့တာပါ။ ပြီးတော့ BEAM ကငွေရေးကြေးရေးအခက်အခဲရှိတဲ့ ကျောင်းသားတွေကို စိူးရိမ်စိတ်ကင်းကင်းနဲ့ ကောင်းကောင်းပညာဆက်သင်နိုင်ဖို့ လုပ်ဆောင်ပေးတာ ဖြစ်တဲ့အတွက် BEAM မှာ GED တက်ဖို့ တိုက်တွန်းချင်ပါတယ်။ မဆုတ်မနစ်ကြိုးစားဖို့ တော့လိုတာပေါ့။ BEAM ကကျွန်တော့ကို GED diploma ရဖို့ ကူညီပေးခဲ့ရုံမက စောစိန်သန်း နဲ့ Rejoice တို့လို ရည်မှန်းချက်တူတဲ့ သူငယ်ချင်းတွေနဲ့လည်း ဆုံခွင့်‌ပေးခဲ့ပါတယ်။”

“ဘွဲ့ရပြီးတဲ့ အချန်ကျရင်တော့  ရပ်ရွာအကျိူးအတွက် NGO ဒါမှမဟုတ် ပညာ‌ရေး/နိုင်ငံရေးပိုင်း နဲ့ဆိုင်တဲ့ အပိုင်းမှာလုပ်တဲ့ ရုံးမှာ အလုပ်လုပ်ရင်း ဘွဲ့လွန်အတန်းဆက်တက်ဖို့ မှန်းထားပါတယ်။
