BEAM ‘Online Learning’ student, Jimmy, has endured a difficult journey yet his story is an inspiration for all students who want to study overseas.
‘When I got the email (Scholarship), my mind was like ” yeah I made it! I made it finally after six years of attempts!” I was literally crying with happiness,’ Jimmy says.
Getting this scholarship was a symbol of many years of hard work and failed attempts.
Jimmy applied for University of Tomorrow Scholarship, which covers full tuition, faculty fees, housing and living expenses for four years of graduate study.
“I have now full rights to study as hard as I want to and pursue Information Technology, which is my childhood dream. I am already excited to see my year ahead,” he says.” It is going to be full of challenges that I will love to face.”
After his studies, Jimmy has big entrepreneurial aspirations.
“With my good communication skills and my entrepreneurial spirit, I would like to set up a tech-startup that benefits society especially my community,” he says.
Jimmy is very aware how Beam helped him on his pathway to success.
“For students like me who do not have financial support from family and from an IDP camp and war-torn area the GED was so far away. It may as well have been on the moon. Beam really bridged the gap. It really did,” he says.
“My humble advice to future students would be to always keep your dreams alive despite difficulties and bad head-wind. I am more than one hundred percent sure that we all face obstacles when trying to get the GED or achieve our dreams,” he says.
“But trust me, at the end of the day, you will be so happy seeing your results that you accomplished by putting in a full effort and giving a laser-focus. We values things in our life that we achieve through difficulty, not really things we achieve easily with hardly any effort.”
The Beam family would like to extend our warmest congratulations to Jimmy on being awarded a scholarship to study in Japan! This opportunity is testament to his hard work, dedication and perseverance in pursuing high academic and personal goals.
