On 11th August 2015, VIA fellows conducted teaching workshops with BEAM’s GED Students. Reading Fiction, Reading Poetry and Academic Writing topics were focused in two different sessions. BEAM has an ongoing relationship with the Stanford University connected Volunteers in Asia (VIA) and is working with Princeton in Asia on a proposed Senior Fellow Program. Melody H. Wei will be working at BEAM for the coming year. She will be replacing Elizabeth as both a teacher and scholarship committee member starting on 17 August 2015. Volunteers in Asia (VIA) has been providing volunteer teachers for BEAM – Nick Egert in 2011, Hannah Cann in 2012, Alyssa Paylor in 2013, Elizabeth Neiman in 2014 and Melody H. Wei in 2015.
