Job description:
Vocational Program Associate
Assists with the recruitment of students for vocational skills training including household income generation training in remote areas
Assists with the designing, planning, coordination, and evaluation of vocational education and training programs/courses including the social enterprise activity/project
Identifies and evaluates methods for improving workflow and cost-effectiveness and makes recommendations to the Vocational Program Coordinator for improvement
Assists with the supervision of volunteers and trainers, and conducts regular meetings with volunteer vocational trainers
Coordinates interactions between vocational trainers and students and regular communication with current/alumni vocational students
Assists with conducting research on migrant workers’ coping strategies
Connects vocational students with the potential market for their own vocational products and better job prospects
Supports the Vocational Program Coordinator and other staff with various tasks, budgeting, and day-to-day administration
Meets regularly with the Vocational Program Coordinator concerning administrative management issues and activities/training and the status of projects
Composes and submits quarterly reports to the Vocational Program Coordinator
Participates in projects and meetings as requested by the senior management team
Participates and represents BEAM at cultural events and activities (occasionally)
Job skills and qualifications:
University graduate with any major or relevant certificate
Shan, Burmese, and Thai language skills are required and English language preferable.
Prior working experience with migrant environment and market & social enterprise knowledge is desirable.
Excellent organizational, collaboration skills
Passion for teaching and organization skills
Patience, flexibility, and strong communication skills
Independent work ethic for self-management of schedule
Ability to multi-task, schedule, and manage competing priorities and deadlines both short- and long-term projects
Ability to maintain a positive and flexible attitude toward daily responsibilities, schedule, and to work collaboratively as part of a team and on an independent basis
The candidate should also be volunteer minded and needs to commit to about 40 working hours per week. Stipend negotiable depending on qualifications and experience. Work permit and visa will be provided at our expense after successfully completing a probation period. This contract is valid for a period of 11 months (November 2020 – September 2021) and may be renewed by mutual agreement between the employee and the Foundation.
