BEAM’s Bridging Programs Opening 2015
On 6th May 2015, BEAM Education Foundation conducted its two bridging programs for higher education: the First Year Integration Program and the GED Program.
The Integration Program is a two-year pilot program for Migrant Education Integration Initiative Committee. It’s aims is to provideMyanmar migrants with wider choices for their future, initiating a migrant education system which provides accreditation recognized by Myanmar, Thailand, and other ASEAN countries, as equal to other national and regional educational standards. This program will prepare students at the junior high school level in first year and senior high school level in second year. 30 students have been accepted for the 2015 academic year.
The GED Program is a one-year program,aiming to prepare the students to pass the General Education Development (GED) examinations. The GED is a high school equivalency, a step for migrant students to then prepare for international university. 31 students have been accepted for 2015 academic year.
The BEAM Education Foundation offers academic, vocational, and cultural courses and programs to Myanmar migrants in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Students with a passion for Myanmar are chosen for their ambition, potential and need. BEAM is proud to help our students build a bridge to a better life.
