CV& Personal Statement Training (Volunteer Teacher: Teletha)

Teletha Rothwell McJunkin recently completed instruction for a 6 week soft skills course BEAM students, providing students with the skills to create a personal statement, fill out university applications, identify soft skills, create CVs, and interview for jobs and scholarships. The course ran from 12 November until 17 December. 14 BEAM students successfully completed the course and received certificates for their work. Teletha was connected to BEAM through a partner NGO, The Branch Foundation. This is the Branch Foundation’s fourth year of leading Soft Skills Professional Workshops at BEAM, and Teletha’s first year. We are grateful for her hard work and dedication to BEAM. Here is what she says: “I volunteered to teach a class at BEAM because I wanted to get involved in Chiang Mai. What I did not expect was the sheer joy I experienced getting to know this amazing group of students from Myanmar. Their dedication to their education and to their home communities was humbling and inspiring. It was a pleasure to teach them since they have such a thirst for knowledge. I expect great things from them, and hope to stay in touch with them.” The Branch Foundation is an organization supporting sustainable development in South East Asia.
