GMS-ASEAN Conference 2015

On 17-18 December 2015, 5 BEAM students and 2 teachers participated in the international conference, “Asian Perspective on Peace and Development: Questioning the Future of GMS and ASEAN,” hosted by the Faculty of Political Science and Public Administration at Chiang Mai University (CMU). During the conference, topics like Peace and Conflicts, Ethnicity, Tourism and Development, Gender and Socio-cultural Issues, International Relations, Human Rights and Human Security were included in panel discussion sessions.

Participation of 88th H.M the King’s Birthday Parade Ceremony

On the 3rd of December 2015, BEAM’s students and teachers participated in the parade of H.M the King’s 88th Birthday. All together, 50 BEAM students participated from the first year NFE Pilot Program and Second Year GED Program, accompanied by 7 teachers.Around three thousand people from hill tribes and international foundations and organizations in Chiang Mai joined the celebration,walking from J.J Market to 3 Kings Monument.

On 15 September 2015, the Office of Non-Formal and Informal Education (ONIE) and BEAM Education Foundation signed a Memorandum of Understanding regarding education for non-Thai citizens who are legally residing in Thailand.

BEAM Students participated in New Myanmar Consulate Opening Ceremony in Chiang Mai

On 29th July 2015, BEAM students participated in the opening ceremony of New Myanmar Consulate in Chiang Mai. The New Myanmar consulate in Chiang Mai officially opened today, with Myanmar’s foreign minister Wunna Maung Lwin and ambassador to Thailand Win Maung in attendance.
